Off The Plan Purchase: What Happens Next?


Once you have found your perfect property, what do you do next...


Reservation:

  • You need to reserve your property. The property is then taken off the market immediately and you have the first right of refusal to purchase the property within seven days of receiving a copy of the contract of sale
  • The reservation fee is $2,000.00
  • The reservation fee is normally fully refundable depending on the developer

Contract:

  • You will receive the contract of sale
  • We recommend that you appoint a solicitor to look over the contract of sale
  • A solicitor will be able to assist you better with other issues that may arise such as first home owner’s grants. (If you need a lawyer please ask. We have a recommended independent lawyer)

Deposit:

  • On signing of the contract you need to pay your 10% deposit in full. (We will reimburse your reservation fee)
  • Payment can be made by cheque, bank transfer or bank guarantee (Bank guarantee can take longer to organize and developers normally allow for this)
